Nuqul Tissue is pleased to announce that our Al Sindian mill in Egypt has been awarded the Forestry Stewardship Council, Chain of Custody Certification (SGS-COC-005172),
This certification will ensure the pulp raw material, used by our Al Sindian plant, complies with the highest moral, ethical and environmental standards, for forestry products, available today.

International General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health “NEBOSH”

Nuqul Tissue is conducting the NEBOSH International general certificate course for 28 of Nuqul Tissue key employees in Egypt. The training is being delivered by a multi national training provider and the exams are being conducted by NEBOSH examiners from the UK.
The NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health is a globally recognized qualification offered by an established independent UK examination board with over 25 years experience in providing health and safety awards in the UK and across the world including the Middle East, the West Indies and Southeast Asia. The qualification focuses on international standards and management systems, enabling candidates to effectively discharge workplace health and safety responsibilities in any employment sector.

Al-Keena Paper Mill’s Upgrade Project

In line with Nuqul Tissue’s policy to deliver customers with top edge quality and cost effective products, NT’s top management took the decision last year to rebuild Al-Keena Paper Mill. The project was conducted in February 2008, utilizing the latest state of the art technology of ABB to replace the DCS and the QCS systems. The new system will enable Al-Keena to have better control over the processes resulting in more consistent products and improved OEE (Overall Equipments Efficiency). With this technology, Al-Keena will deliver products with negligible variations in basis weight and moisture. The rebuild included an upgrade in the improvement of all equipments’ quality and reliability, housekeeping service, dust removal system, and combiner efficiency.

Six Sigma Project

Six Sigma is considered to be one of the best business tools applied in the biggest 500 companies in the world and is used to achieve organizational goals and stretched targets.

At Nuqul Tissue, we had strategic and brain storming meetings to discuss ideas focusing on better customer delight and producing error free products and services. It was agreed without any shed of a doubt that Six Sigma tools are the supporting pillars that will help us to reach our goals. So the decision was taken to deploy it in our mills starting from the beginning of 2008. At present NT is proud of our team, all staff members were actively involved in the implementation of the project that resulted in improving customer services and products.

Al-Snobar Max. Speed

We are proud to announce that Al-Snobar reached maximum paper machine speed of 2000 mpm with good stability and runnability. This would not have been achieved without the great efforts from all of our members at Al-Snobar family.
As promised this is one of the milestones towards reaching world class records, an objective set by Al-Snobar team.

Al-Sindian Third Year Anniversary

Al-Sindian celebrated the third year anniversary and the great results of the paper machine reaching the maximum speed of 2000 mpm. The celebration was attended by NT Operations Director/ Mr. Robert Walker, Plant Manager/ Mr. Waheed Qannas, department and section managers along with all employees. Plant manager, Mr. Waheed Qannas thanked all employees for their great achievement and wished everyone success. At the end each employee received a thank you certificate with a souvenir. (it would be nice to say what the souvenir is).
