Tissue World Conference–Nice 2009

The Tissue World Conference-Nice 2009 is considered to be the World’s largest marketing and sales event for the global tissue business. All industry professionals from tissue makers, converters and traders, packagers, suppliers, analysts and consultants gather together for meetings at this major trade show.
The main purpose of this event is to bring all attendees up-to-date with the latest technical, market and business developments which impact the tissue industry. It also provides them an opportunity to meet colleagues, competitors and suppliers, and to find ways to improve business and profitability.
Mr. Waheed Al-Qannas, Nuqul Tissue Site Manager in Egypt, attended this conference with the objective to keep Nuqul Tissue in direct communication with the Tissue World Business.

Jordan TV at Al-Snobar

Jordan TV, in cooperation with the Amman Industrial Commerce, prepared a TV program that was broadcast during the celebration of King Abdullah’s birthday recognizing his majesty’s achievements during the last ten years. The TV crew visited the Al Snobar factory on the 19th of January this year where they video-taped production scenes at the Al Snobar Mill.

The Six Sigma Ceremony

NT-Egypt conducted an awards ceremony to issue a Certificate of Completion for the First Wave of the different levels of the Six Sigma deployment projects. NT-Egypt achieved a high performance score by successfully completing all of the six required projects associated with the first wave level. They also achieved savings up to the end of December ’08 totaling nearly 2,000,000 L.E. During the Six Sigma deployment in NT-Egypt, 76% of the NT-Egypt employees were exposed to “yellow belt” training or above, while 13 employees became certified as “green belts.” Additionally, three employees were awarded “certified champion” certificates.

Nuqul Group Annual Quality Award

On Nov. 13th, 2008, Nuqul Tissue participated in the Nuqul Group annual Quality Day Award and was nominated among the first three positions to compete for the top rank. After the final review in the event, Nuqul Tissue was announced as the second runner up for this year's award. The project title was, Achieving Customer Delight through FSC (Forest stewardship council) Certification.

PEFC Certificate

Nuqul Tissue is pleased to announce that our Al Sindian mill in Egypt has been awarded the PEFC Certification.
The PEFC Council (Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes) is an independent, non-profit, non-governmental organization, founded in 1999, which promotes sustainable managed forests through independent third party certification. The PEFC provides an assurance mechanism to purchasers of wood and paper products to assure customers that are promoting the sustainable management of forests.

Tissue Making 2008 Conference

Chief Nuqul Tissue Officer, Mr. Hani Nuqul, and R&D Manager, Mr. Nidal Zeidan, attended the 2008 Tissue Making Conference held on 18-19 September, at Metso in Karlstad, Sweden.
Quality and Energy consumption were the main topics that were discussed during the conference.
Several tissue manufacturers from more than 30 different countries attended the conference.
Several topics were discussed, such as; energy saving, cost saving, process optimization, cost efficient quality management, de-inking line process configuration, and reducing CO2 emission. The main feature of the conference was the introduction of new technology by Metso called NTT (New Textured Tissue).
The concept of NTT improves paper quality making it close to TAD paper but with much lower energy consumption and cost.
